On Valentine’s Day, Issa Rae and Lakeith Stanfield brought us The Photograph, a romantic film about breaking generational curses, opening yourself up to new experiences, and of course, falling in love when you least expect it.
The Photograph not only shows just how beautiful being vulnerable can be, but it also explores the difficult reasons why people hesitate to share their heart with another person.
So during their NY press run, I asked Issa and Lakeith what scares them the most about falling in love.
Issa said, “The idea that it may not work out.”
While Lakeith said, “Putting your trust in the hands of somebody else.”
And yet, despite their fears, both Lakeith and Issa have allowed themselves to take a chance on love, both on-screen and individually in their personal lives.
If you have a similar sentiment regarding love or the fear of it, tell us what scares you about it in the comments below. In the meantime, check out The Photograph, in theaters now.
